Pakistan Online Visa – Requirements & Processing Guide 2026

Pakistan Online Visa is a fully digital system that lets Overseas Pakistanis and foreign travellers apply, pay and receive Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) and e-visas online, without visiting an embassy or submitting their physical passport.

All Pakistan visas are now issued online only through the official Government of Pakistan visa portal at visa.nadra.gov.pk. No manual visa applications are accepted at missions, and physical visa stamping in the passport is no longer required. Once approved, your e-visa will be available to download and print.

Important: Always apply through the official Pakistan Online Visa system. Do not submit your passport to any third party for visa stamping.

General Guidelines for a Successful Pakistan Online Visa

  • Name & passport details: Enter your Given Name(s) and Surname exactly as they appear in your passport. Double-check passport number and date of birth before submitting.
  • Type of passport: Most travellers must select “Ordinary Passport”. Diplomatic, Official and other types are usually for government officials only.
  • Minor children: Every child must hold their own valid Pakistani visa or NICOP. Children cannot travel on a parent’s passport or visa.
  • Complete documentation: Incomplete applications are placed in “Review”. You must upload the requested documents and re-submit within 7 days or the system will automatically cancel the application.
  • Visa fee: Visa fees are non-refundable in all cases, whether the visa is granted, refused, or cancelled due to late/incomplete response by the applicant.
  • Browser & payment: For smoother experience, use the latest version of Google Chrome. If your card payment fails, contact your bank and enable international/online transactions.
  • Supporting documents: Besides mandatory documents, you may upload any additional proof (hotel bookings, invitation letters, bank statements, etc.) under the “Other” document tab.

How Long Does Pakistan Visa Processing Usually Take?

Pakistan online visa applications are generally processed within about 7–10 working days from the date of successful submission and payment. In many cases, some categories such as Family or Tourist visas may be finalised in around 5–7 business days, but this is not guaranteed.

Actual processing time can vary depending on:

Urgent / emergency cases: For genuine urgency (such as medical or compassionate travel), some missions may consider faster processing if you upload all required documents and then email proof of urgency along with your confirmed flight booking and visa application ID through the contact details of the relevant mission. Approval of urgent processing is always at the discretion of the authorities.

How long does Pakistan visa processing usually take?

Most applications are processed in about 7–10 working days. Some straightforward cases, especially Family or Tourist visas with complete documentation, may be decided in around 5–7 business days. However, processing time can be longer when additional security checks or verifications are required.

What happens if my application is put in “Review”?

If documents or information are missing, your application status may change to “Review”. You must log in to the portal, upload the requested documents and resubmit the application within 7 days.
